Apostle-Bishop Dr. Katrina T. Smith is an educator, minister, author, speaker, spoken word artist, and founder of It Just Had To Be Heard—a worldwide healing ministry and creative movement dedicated to inspiring people through poetry, music, storytelling, education, faith, and ministry services.
As an Apostle-Bishop, she carries a ministry calling rooted in faith, leadership, healing, and service.
With more than twenty-five years of service in education, she has devoted her life to helping others discover their purpose, overcome adversity, and recognize the value of their own voice.
Her passion extends beyond the classroom into communities, churches, conferences, schools, and stages where words become instruments of healing, encouragement, and transformation.
Education, Leadership, and Ministry Service
A proud graduate of Rider University with degrees in Education and Psychology, she later earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration before completing her Doctorate in Education in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis on K–12 Leadership and Ministry Services.
Her commitment to lifelong learning reflects her belief that education, leadership, faith, and ministry service together have the power to transform lives.
She is also the founder of Raising Young Ladies and Gentlemen Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to developing character, leadership, confidence, and purpose in young people while creating safe spaces where every child feels seen, valued, and heard.
The Spoken Art Experience
As an author of multiple poetry collections and the creator of the Spoken Art Experience, she blends spoken word, music, visual storytelling, and faith into immersive experiences designed to reach the heart before the mind.
Her work reminds audiences that healing often begins when someone finally finds the courage to tell their story.
